Another female biathlon superstar announces retirement – CBS TV STREAMS

Star German biathlete Denise Herrmann-Wick announced her retirement at the end of this season on her social networks.

The 34-year-old German crossed over to biathlon in 2016 from cross-country skiing. Herrmann-Wiek won gold at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing in the individual race and became the world champion twice: in 2019 in the pursuit and in 2023 in the sprint.

At the Biathlon World Cup, she won 11 victories and a total of 22 times rose to the podium in individual competitions. In cross-country skiing, she reached the top 3 at the World Cup 6 times and finished twice in the top 10 overall.

Recall that today another star biathlete, Marte Olsby Royseland, announced her retirement.
