22-year-old Moroccan midfielder of the French “Marseille” Azzedine Unai suffered a finger injury and is out for the rest of the season.
“I got injured during a friendly match against Brazil. An x-ray revealed a broken toe requiring surgery. I have to spend several months away from the football field.
Obviously I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to accompany my teammates in the final part of the season, but I will do my best to be ready for the start of next season. Thank you for all your messages and your sympathy,” the player wrote on his Instagram.
For Marseille in the 2022/23 season, Unai played 7 matches in which he scored 1 goal.
Azzedine Unai became famous after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he, along with the Moroccan team, reached the semi-finals. He joined Marseille in January 2023.
It should be noted that Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky also plays for Marseille. It is with Unai that Ruslan is a competitor in position.
