Scheduled for the morning of March 19, the duel of former world champion Gilberto Ramirez (44-1, 30 KOs) against 37-year-old American Gabriel Rosado (26-16-1, 15 KOs) will not take place.
At the weigh-in, Ramirez was much heavier than the light heavyweight limit, so the California Athletic Commission canceled the fight.
During the first attempt, Ramirez showed on the scales as much as 84.82 kg, 5.5 kg over the light heavyweight limit, and in the two hours allotted by the rules he managed to reduce his weight to only 83 kg.
Recall that in the previous fight, Ramirez suffered his first defeat in his career, losing to Russian Dmitry Bivol by unanimous decision.
