Famous promoter Frank Warren told how negotiations are going on for a fight between WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and WBA, WBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
“Usyk’s team are good people and they’re trying to do what’s best for their guy who they say holds three titles. And we have the number one heavyweight in Tyson, so everyone is trying to do what’s best for their fighter. There is no animosity between us, everything is fine with the deal. I hope that in a few meetings we will agree on everything.
But we cannot allow ourselves to be influenced or pressured by the media. It will not happen. In the end, to be honest, we’re shelling out the money. We are not FIFA, not football, cricket or rugby league. It’s our money, we’re taking risks, so the numbers have to match,” Warren said in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel.
Previously, Usyk asked Fury if he was ready to fight on April 29.
