British boxer Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) admitted that he would be happy to fight with WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) or WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KO) if their fight fails.
“Perhaps I will come on as a substitute. This is a good backup plan for all of us. I’m glad to hear the guys don’t have a rematch clause. We’ve seen a lot of rematches lately. It’s all slowing down the division, isn’t it? It’s very nice to hear that he won’t be after this fight. So I can face the winner.
I don’t mind fighting Usyk again, but Fury is more important. I am confident in my abilities, and there is no doubt that any of the guys will be a great matchup, but I prefer the option with Fury,” said Joyce.
