Hrgovic doubts Usyk will fight Dubois next

Croatian boxer Filip Hrgovic (15-0, 12 KOs), who is the mandatory contender for the IBF heavyweight belt, does not rule out that he could become the next opponent of WBA, WBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), although the first in line is the mandatory WBA contender Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs).

“I am not disappointed because there are rules. The WBA is in front of me, now it’s their turn. So I’m not upset, but there’s a good chance that Dubois hasn’t recovered from his injury. There’s a lot of talk about me being next in line.

Let’s see. I think nothing has been signed yet. Maybe I’ll be the next challenger. Let’s see what happens with this fight. But I’m not disappointed,” Hrgovic told YouTube channel Boxing Social.

Note that in the duel with Kevin Lerena, which took place in early December 2022, Dubois injured the knee ligaments.

Earlier, Hrgovic made a prediction for Usyk vs Dubois.
