“I sympathize with Potter, but it was inevitable”

English former midfielder Jamie Carragher has spoken out about the resignation of Graham Potter from the post of head coach of London’s Chelsea.

“I sympathize with Potter, but it was inevitable. It was impossible to change Tuchel for Potter. It was a stupid decision to begin with,” Carragher said.

Potter has led the Pensioners since September 2022, when he replaced German Thomas Tuchel at the head of the team. Graham’s contract with the club ran until June 30, 2027.

Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League table with 38 points.
