Promoter and former welterweight boxer Dmitry Salita shared his opinion on the breakdown of negotiations between the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (33-0, 24 KOs).
“I think that Usyk and Fury have not agreed now, but they will do it later. This is a very big fight. Everyone who is involved in the world of boxing should do everything to make the big fights happen. They are the life of the sport. There are different promotions, there are different TV channels, it happens that they are friends or sometimes they are not.
Now we have a good example, when the teams of Davis and Garcia agreed and there will be a cool battle. Therefore, I believe that the Usyk-Fury fight will take place, and I think even this year,” said Salita.
