24-year-old Ukrainian skeletonist Vladislav Geraskevich told whether it is possible, thanks to pressure on countries hosting skeleton competitions, to prevent Russians from entering the tracks.
“If we are talking about skeleton, then we have a sport where we are very attached to the venue. We have a track where bobsleigh, skeleton and luge competitions are held.
This thing is effective for us. Many tracks are concentrated in the USA, Germany, Latvia. These are all countries that do not really want to let the Russians in.
But in fencing, the admission of Russians is not a problem, because Usmanov has got into the leadership of the federation for ten years, which is pocket.
We saw the news that in Germany or France canceled any competition. But at the same time, they are transferring them to Hungary or Asian countries, where they are ready to receive Russians. The organizers of the competitions need to be put under pressure after they failed to agree with the international federations, ”Geraskevich said.
