Jayson Shaw and Tyler Styer are back in action for the Mosconi Cup 2022.
Jayson Shaw has been named Team Europe’s first wild card pick for the 2022 Mosconi Cup, with Tyler Styer returning for Jeremy Jones’ Team USA.
Shaw enters the Mosconi Cup as a two-time MVP, having won the title in the previous two editions of the transatlantic clash between Europe and the United States.
‘Eagle Eye’ will travel to Las Vegas to add to his already illustrious career after being chosen by Team Europe captain Alex Lely.
“It feels great to be back on the team.” “I am overjoyed to have been chosen,” he said.
“Alex Lely has a lot of experience on the team with me, and I believe my leadership over the last few years has been amazing.” I am beyond thrilled and cannot wait to rejoin the team. It’s an honor to represent Europe for the seventh time.
“The last few times we’ve played in Las Vegas, it’s been difficult. I’m sure it’ll be fantastic. I have both good and bad memories. The memory that sticks out the most for me is when I beat Shane (Van Boening) and went to stand.”
“I love it when it comes to taunting and energizing the American fans. This is the purpose of the Mosconi Cup. It is all about getting inside their heads. I am the right man for the job. I like to get into their heads before the game begins, and this year is no exception. Get under their skin and make them all hot and bothered. Make them angry, make them hate me. The more hate I receive, the more I enjoy it. At the Mosconi Cup, it brings out the best in me.”
Meanwhile, Styer will rejoin Team USA as captain Jones attempts to lead his country to victory for the first time since 2019. Van Boening, Oscar Dominguez, and Skyward are already on the roster.
