Italian biathlete Lukas Hofer explained why he decided to end the season ahead of schedule.
“After trying everything I could to get back in shape, I, along with the doctors and coaches, decided to end this season earlier than I had hoped in order to finally get healthy.
Starting in November, I had a tough four months physically and mentally, struggling with my body and trying to find my way back to normal training conditions.
Nothing can be forced, so for now I accept that my body and mind need time to recover,” wrote Hofer.
