Heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk believes that Vasily Lomachenko was unfairly defeated by Devin Haney in a lightweight bout where the American won by decision.

“115 – 113 in favor of Lomachenko. This is my count. I believe that Vasily was simply robbed. I think it’s just bad refereeing. Gave victory to a younger boxer who has a perspective. And they did not appreciate what Lomachenko did, did not appreciate his efforts. Such is my opinion. I love Loma, this is my brother.”

“The emotions that we saw after the fight were the result of his communication with his son. Perhaps Vasily felt that he could not live up to his son’s expectations. I don’t think tears are a weakness. He is a real warrior,” Usyk said.
