Biathlete of the French national team Lou Jeanmonnot commented on the second place in the mass start at the eighth stage of the World Cup in Östersund, Sweden.
“I am very satisfied with my shooting. Today 20 out of 20 were simply necessary, this is a mass start!
The first lap was very nervous – I constantly thought about the possible hit on the podium and the importance of clean shooting. Fortunately, I was able to get myself together in time and focus on my work, but it was very difficult.
At the end of the race, my goal was to stay close to Wierer. On the track, it would be difficult for me to run at Julia’s pace, so I chose the most acceptable option. At the beginning of the last lap, I had thoughts of fighting for the lead, but I was too worried about whether I would have enough strength at the finish line. Of course, I am pleased with the result, but a little disappointed. Who knows what it would have been like if I had no doubts and yet rushed into the fight for victory.
I am pleasantly surprised by my progress during the last season. I don’t understand how it happened, but I am very pleased with the result of my work! I hope that in the future I will continue my development,” Jeanmonnot said.
