“This is a great honor and responsibility for me”

UAF President Andrey Pavelko commented on his re-election to the UEFA Executive Committee for a 4-year term:

“Today, the 47th regular UEFA Congress expressed its full confidence and support for football Ukraine.

The extension of the mandate of a member of the UEFA Executive Committee for the next four years is a great honor and responsibility for me. And this is the common merit of all our fans, football players, coaches, referees, football managers, regional associations, clubs and leaders. This is the merit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, on whose initiative and support the football life of the country was revived and a special championship 2022/2023 was launched in eight different leagues, among men’s and women’s teams.

This is the merit of our heroes from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who daily invincibly defend the independence and future of our state. Thanks to all of you, there is football in Ukraine today. Despite the war, Ukrainian football continues to be an important tool for uniting the efforts of millions for the sake of victory.

I thank my colleagues from European national associations for their trust and long-term fruitful cooperation. I am grateful to Aleksander Čeferin for his dedication to the course of reforms in European football, whom I congratulate on his re-election as UEFA President. I am grateful to the entire European Football Union for supporting Ukraine in these difficult times.

I am grateful to the team of the Head of State and the Office of the President of Ukraine for their systematic assistance in the revival of Ukrainian football. We continue to work together for the sake of new achievements of our teams! One of the priority tasks for us today is to defend the interests of Ukraine in the context of the 2030 World Cup! We will do everything for this and even more!
