Ukraine U-19 suffered a crushing defeat from Sweden at the start of Euro qualifiers

Today, April 5, in Denmark, the youth women’s team of Ukraine WU-19 started the match against the Swedes in the second round of selection Euro 2023 WU-19.

The blue-yellows went to Denmark in transit through Poland on March 31. The Ukrainians arrived in Kege, where, thanks to the support of the Danish Football Union, they held a short training camp. It was in this city that the Ukrainian team started the battles for reaching the final part of Euro 2023 with today’s match against Sweden.

Already from the start of the match, the Scandinavians seized the initiative. In the 25th minute, Duras opened the scoring by closing a cross from Nilden at the far post, and shortly before the break she scored a double, being the first to finish.

After the break, the Swedes brought the score to a devastating one. In the 52nd minute, Renberg took advantage of Boklach’s mistake at the exit, followed by Swedman and Björk. As a result, the Ukrainians lost with a score of 0:5.

Now Valeriy Palamarchuk’s wards will have a meeting with their hosts – Denmark, which will take place on April 8 at 15:30 Kyiv time.
