On Tuesday, April 4, the match of the 1/4 finals of the German Football Cup between the clubs Bayern and Freiburg took place. The game ended with the score 2:1 in favor of the “Brazilians from Breisgau”.
The score was opened in the 19th minute thanks to a goal by Dayo Upamecano. However, after 8 minutes, Nicholas Hoefler equalized the score.
Everything went to the fact that the game will go into extra time, but on 90 + 5 Lukas Holer hit the gates of Jann Sommer, brought an unexpected victory for Freiburg and knocked Bayern out of the tournament.
Note that this defeat was the first for Thomas Tuchel as the head coach of Bayern. Previously, Munich was headed by Julian Nagelsmann, under whose leadership the Reds defeated Freiburg three times, and twice – devastatingly (5:0, 4:1).
