“Until the war is over.” UEFA is not ready for the return of Russia to football

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, after his re-election as president of the organization, said that Russia should not expect a return to big football now.

Ceferin doubts that Russian clubs will be able to participate in European competitions in the near future, and national teams in official matches.

“My personal opinion: until the war is over, it will be very difficult to change something in the sanctions. As long as the war is going on, this madness continues, this form of pressure must be maintained,” Čeferin said.

Earlier it was reported that Russia is ready to move to the Asian Football Confederation in order to participate in the selection for the 2026 World Cup.
