CEO of the promotion company K2 Promotions Alexander Krasyuk said that it was the team of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) who withdrew from negotiations regarding the superfight against Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs):
“They ask a lot and this is the most frequently asked question, and I want to take this opportunity to say right away: “We have withdrawn from the negotiations.”
Usyk’s team did it, Egis Klimas and I made this decision when we understood and received evidence that there would be no fight.
So the issue is removed, Usyk’s team withdrew from the negotiations, we initiated it. This is very important because some people keep asking on social media, “Who did this, what happened?”
The fight was supposed to take place on April 29, Usyk was already preparing for the fight. According to rumors, the parties did not agree on the distribution of the fee in a possible rematch.
