Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk commented on the victory over the national team of Qatar (2:0) in the group stage match of the 2022 World Cup.
“We wanted to build confidence in this match and I think we succeeded. We knew we had to work better, especially after the Ecuador game. It is clear that we can no longer afford to relax.
Today we could have played better, but we managed to finish the game without conceding goals. The feeling that we can and should continue to do better. Maybe this stage of the tournament will teach us something,” said van Dijk.
