In Shchuchinsk, Kazakhstan, as part of the 2023 Junior Biathlon World Championships, an individual race for girls took place.
Ukrainian Oleksandra Merkushina made three misses and won a bronze medal. Elena Gorodna also performed well, taking 7th place with one inaccurate shot.
Two more representatives of Ukraine, Ksenia Prikhodko and Maria Goloboroda, had significant problems on the firing lines and, as a result, failed to get into the top 40.
The world champion was the German Julia Kink, who did not submit to two targets. Alessia Laager from Switzerland won the silver medal with one penalty.
