In Shchuchinsk (Kazakhstan) on Saturday, March 4, the junior biathlon world championship started.
In the very first form of the competition program, the Ukrainian team was able to climb the podium. The fourth place in the mixed relay among girls and boys went to Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Bogdan Borkovsky and Mikhail Khmil.
Better than the Ukrainian quartet, the representatives of Norway and Germany coped with the distance, to which the Ukrainian biathletes lost 1.30.6 and 55.1 seconds, respectively, ahead of the Italians in the fight for bronze by 19.1.
